Arson suspected as cause of fire in Laos’ National Protected Area
BOKEO, Laos (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Arson caused the destruction of almost 1,000 hectares of forest after a fire raged through the Nam Kan National Protected Area in Bokeo province.
An official from the protected area, Mr Khamlek Senkhamvang, told Vientiane Times that fires have destroyed almost 1,000 hectares of trees around three villages since May 10.
